Canon looked to the very first Elph for inspiration when designing the PowerShot SD1000 Digital Elph, and came up with a quintessential iteration of the icon: slim, clean-lined and fully flat. Inside, the SD1000 Digital Elph looks only to the future: 7.1 megapixels, a 3x optical zoom and advanced DIGIC III ensure top-quality images, while focus is fast and sharp and red-eye is automatically corrected. The large and more colorful LCD screen now has a tough, anti-reflective coating that makes it as durable as it is beautiful.
Best Camera I have owned! (I love Canon PowerShot SD1000)
I just purchased this camera through Amazon. Although small and perfect for pocket travel, it is also very ergonomic with an intuitive button layout. It arrived with everything mentioned in the box, battery charger /USB cable/ av cord/ cd-rom (probably never use)/camera strap and 32mb card. My last digital camera ate double aa batteries like it was nobodies business so I am happy to give this rechargeable lithium a go (picked up a spare lenmar for like $10). Took some photos of our Dogs and Cat with it and they turned out great (no blurring at all). Despite what other reviewers have said, the video playback through the camera does in fact play sound with an adjustable volume! Go ahead and use the time lapse video while you are doing something like chopping vegetables, the playback makes it look like you are on Iron Chef. A neat and unexpected feature with the camera display is that it will auto rotate the picture being viewed as you turn the camera! So far the picture and video quality has been steller. This is a must buy for the price!
